The 7th Cooperative Principle is “Concern for Community”. The Silver City Food Co-op lives up to this principle by being actively involved in our community through a variety of outreach programs, community forums, sponsorships and donations, as well as participation in community events.

The Silver City Food Co-op supports and takes part in these community events:

Tapestry of Talent fashion show hosted by Southwest Women’s Fiber Arts Collective
Viva Verde Expo, a weekend long educational conference on “Green Living in Southern New Mexico” hosted by the Gila Resources Information Project.

In addition, the Silver City Food Co-op is committed to providing an ongoing venue for education. Each month we host Community Forums with guest speakers in our Community Room which are free and open to the community.
